Large alidade with two brass sights.

The central ruler, with bevelled edges, is engraved on its upper part with five scales in toises and feet: Pied De Roy, Echelle Des Cartes, Echelle Des Plans En Grand, Echelle Des Profils, Echelle Des Ponts.

There is an opening for sighting on its right side. The underside is unengraved.

The sights are hinged and foldable. They are fitted with afastening hook on the outer side (one of which has a broken tip).

Note : the “pied de Roy” corresponds to « toise de l’écriture » (meaning before 1667).

Dimensions: length 66.3 cm x width 3.6 cm x height 21.8 cm (with sight open).
